Tried My Best (10.31.14)

We are all each other’s teachers. We learn lessons from all different types of people, regardless of their age. One day, when my daughter Ashlee was around age 3, she came up to me and showed me something she had done and said, “I tried my best.” Those words became emblazoned into my heart and soul. To my knowledge, I had not said those words to her; however, that is how my parents raised me. To try my best for myself. My heart filled with love and burst with gratitude at this precious 3 year old child of mine reminding me of one of life’s great lessons: Try your best.
